This is an informative book about the Ebola virus. Everyone should read this so they know important information about the virus like how it spreads.
This ebook is obviously catering to the scare mongering market. Because the author took a little time to index and make proper links people writing the forwards fall over themselves. Basically this book lacks what I believe to be the real important information. Take the word "treat"in the title. At current 60% plus death rate you do not want to even catch ebola, period! Which means focus should be on knowing how to avoid getting infected without moving to the next state because the next state will turn you away.
Answering these questions could be entire chapters and are mentioned if at all only briefly. Medical questions like; Just exactly what is a virus? (ya right you think you know but do you understand it? *1) As opposed to a bacteria or our own body cells. Why is ebola different? How seasonal flu and ebola transmission are the same. How long ebola can remain alive inside various dropped fluids?
Social and government questions like; Why Africa is having a hard time controlling the virus? How America's culture will react differently. In case of a serious outbreak; What to expect from congress, white house, CDC, FDA, your own local police & city, state government? Ways to prepare different from the normal prepping for bad weather, etc.
Your social behavior and actions has far more effect then anything medical people or technology can do. Like the people getting on planes "knowing" they could possibly be infected. Or the Texas hospital people not being up to speed on the virus. I mean come on. It's there job to know! Anyway you get my drift about social actions.
Learning serious knowledge about ebola requires spending a few hours researching not 10 minutes from this book. I'm of the opinion you'll get more from medical and journal sites then from spending equal time reading blogs, mainstream media and this book. By the way, I consider WebMD to be a fluff site. A good side benefit is you'll understand how the seasonal flu spreads. Something you are far more likely to get.
