The book is okay. We found a couple questions where they gave the wrong answers which is confusing. Also, there were a couple analogy questions with images that were so unclear, it was difficult to determine what they were, which made answering them difficult. I think they could do a better job on this book for $32.Product details

We purchased this book along with Bright Minds and Smart Cookie Incs (2 books) for our two kids applying for Gifted Programs. Both our kids scored highly in the COGAT and got admitted into the gifted program.
Despite the high price, Mercer Publishing is the best available CogAT practice book publisher in the market. Unlike many other sources (such as testingmom.com) the tests in the books are very well designed with questions that are true to the originals. The books have good second hand value, especially if you use a bubble test form to answer questions.
I thought the book was great!
All the 9 sections that are in the actual test were provided with sample questions at the start of each test. The sample questions were especially helpful in giving an introduction to the child on what that section was just about to test them on.
I can't imagine how my child could be successful in the actual exam if we had not reviewed this book.
There were lots of new concepts to introduce and once you explain them the child masters them quickly.
